His breath comes jagged as she assures him and kisses him, but he finds her hands and holds them, leaning back into that touch of her forehead. "Thank you," he breathes. He gently presses his lips to hers, buoyed by the tenderness of it. "I love you, Aerith. So much more than I ever thought possible." Especially in moments like these.

He pulls back, giving her a real smile, and he returns to undressing her, a thing he's done with love a hundred times in the safety of their room. It grounds him further, that odd pall nearly gone. Still, he can't help noticing a voice criticizing him for making this perfectly fun adventure heavy. It's not unlike voices that have plagued him in the past when he's feeling insecure, and so he brushes it away, instead focusing on how in love with her he is.
