Her thighs tingle, and she's sure the blankets beneath her feel somehow softer in the aftermath, still catching her breath when he moves over her and kisses her again. The taste of herself on his mouth sends a fresh pang of heat through her, leaving her shivering as she breathlessly returns the kiss.
"I love you," Aerith breathes, her fingers coming to brush his cheek as she presses light kisses against his mouth over and over. "I love you so much Balthier." And it's so much more than the way he made her feel just then. There's a sense of peace and contentment that comes with being with him that she doesn't know if she's ever had before.
He grins, the earnestness of that admission enough to make his eyes sting as he kisses her back, humming into one last deeper kiss before he nestles down against her, letting his weight drape over her stomach and his legs sprawl out between hers. "The feeling is mutual," he murmurs. He keeps pressing kisses the side of her face as he strokes her hair, sighing contentedly as his other arm shifts beneath her so he can pull them close.
